Hair gel is predominantly used to stiffen hair and keep a certain shape or style.

Curly hair can benefit from using hair gel as it will keep the curls in place and can combat the frizziness.
Hair gel is mainly used by men when doing a spiky style although some women with shorter hair
do use it too.
